I have a Sony BDVN-7200W connected to a Samsung SmartTV (UN55F6400AFXZA). HDMI Control is turned on on the Sony as well as on the Samsung TV (Anynet+ is turned on which is Samsung's implementation of HDMI-CEC). I have a Comcast STB (RNG110) connected to the HDMI1 input of the Sony HTiB.
Whenever I switch off the system using the Comcast remote it correctly turns off the TV, the receiver and the STB. However when I power the system back up again using the Comcast remote, even though all the devices power up correctly, the Sony always switches to the 'TV' input instead of remembering it's previous setting of HDMI1 which is what the Comcast STB is connected to. It seems like the Samsung TV is confusing the Sony receiver via its HDMI control to switch to 'TV' instead of HDMI once the TV powers the receiver on via the HDMI-CEC flow. Or is this a problem with Sony defaulting to 'TV' to satisfy some Bravia requirement? Eitherways the issue is that now I have to manually switch inputs on the Sony receiver to HDMI1 to continue watching cable.
Is there anything I can do to ensure that when the Sony BDVN-7200W is powered back on it goes straight to 'HDMI1' instead of 'TV'.

Nope.HDMI CEC is not guaranteed to work between brands. Says so in the manuals. You are lucky you get that much cohesion.
I was afraid of that. The irony is that the Sony soundbar I replaced with the HTiB worked flawlessly in this scenario. When it was powered on it always went to the correct input.

Yeah it's really hit or miss. For example, I have a Sony blu ray player and Samsung TV.

If I turn the blu ray player on, the TV comes on and stays on HDMI 1. If I turn the TV off, the blu ray player turns off.

However, if I turn the blu ray player off - the TV displays "Disconnecting Anynet+ device", then switches to tv coaxial input (which has nothing connected to it).

Yea, I gave up on it. Got a harmony remote and wired up the receiver to communicate with the TV over an Optical audio out instead of HDMI. Everything works like a charm now.
