What Crawdaddy said. I hid the more argumentative posts. We understand your objection to smoking but as noted it is perfectly legal and something many of our members do often with a clear conscience.

This thread is now reopened, any further disruptions needs to be reported and let the moderators do our jobs to maintain a non-hostile posting environment.

I remember about fifteen years ago when cigars were all the craze. They seem to have fallen back to niche status again.

No it was just a fad, like everyone playing poker, that was really hot and now it's not.

To disagree, cigar sales are higher than ever. Forums, websites, forums like HTF are still prolific. Its just not socially acceptable so those who indulge just aren't "out there" as much. Its funny, alcohol is responsible for many more deaths every year both indirectly and directly but doesn't have a stigma attached to it. Same with other choices people make in their lives.

I love a good stogie as well. Like you said - mainly on the weekend with a nice adult beverage. I get most of my sticks from online sources but still hit the occasional store to get something out of the ordinary. I tend to favor the boutique brands.

Same here. Get the vast majority of mine from Famous Smoke, CI, and Cigar Auctioneer as their prices are much better than my local shops. My favorite brands are Drew Estate, CAO, Romeo y Juliet, Macanudo, and Alec Bradley.

Yeah - CI is my go to. I like the Drew Estate offerings that aren't "enhanced: such as the Liga Privada, Herrera Esteli, and a new favorite the Papas Fritas. I am a big fan of almost any stick that originates from AJ Fernandez such as Man O War, Diesel, San Latano, etc.

Another favorite is Rocky Patel, especially the Decade.

I'm lucky. Live in a small town with this little chain called The Smoke Shop. The owner(whoever that is) obviously likes good smokes. Also have Tobacconista. Cheap place with the occasional good stuff thrown in.

One of the old-school HTF regulars (was he a moderator?) from the NYC area owns (or owned) a cigar shop. I can't remember who it was! It's on the tip of my tongue. I'm sure that Ron would remember. Sam?

I remember a post started by Blu, I think, back in the olden days wherein he said he was thinking about getting into cigars and the person you are talking about chimed in. I think he actually owned like three stogie stores if memory serves...

You're probably referring to our former moderator Steven Simon.
