Hi All,

I need your help to upgrade my 7.1

Current setup
Onkyo tx-nr 616

2 Definitve Tech BP-8040 super towers as mains

I used satellites from old Def Tech procinema 60 5.1, as surrounds and rear surrounds, and its center speaker and subwoofer as is for my 7.1

I was planning to get
2 Deftech Promonitor 1000 for surrounds and
2 Deftech Promonitor 800 for rear surrounds

While I was browsing I found that Old Deftech SM450 are being sold for around the same price as Promonitor 1000, also SM350 is about Promonitor 800. Based on user reviews seems to me that SM450 and SM350 might give me more bang for the buck. On paper Studio monitors have better specs, bigger cabinets, more bass. I am tempted to go with them.

So how about this
2 Deftech Studiomonitor 450 for surrounds and
2 Deftech Studiomonitor 350 for rear surrounds

For center channel Deftech CS 8060HD
No plans to upgrade subwoofer for now.

Please advice me.. Also, let me know if there are other better options.

Thanks,
Swaroop

Although, personally...I would just get all 4 the same One. Unless there is a space constraint on the rear surrounds.(Still can't edit via the app)

Any more comments about studio monitor 450s, 350s?
Did anyone had a chance to listen to them?
Will they blend well with my mains, Definitve Tech BP-8040 super towers?

The system is great as you have it setup with studiomonitors. They should definitely blend in well with the 8040s. I've listened to the 8040s along with the SM55. Or perhaps you could do both SR8040 as your rear and surrounds
