Joe Kane speaks with Home Theater Forum on the UHD format.  Joe talks about how close you need to be to the display / screen to realized the increased resolution and a series of improvements that could be made to make the format irresistible.

Yeah, the industry backed itself into a corner pushing resolution ahead of color space.

 

We coulda had 4:4:4 RGB 10 bit back in the 240 days(would have been overkill for us, but PAL countries would have been happy).

12 Bit just doesnt sound as sexy as UHD.  :blink:

UHD is akin to this kid on one of the Powerstroke forums a while back...
