Thanks for the heads up.  I ordered from Walmart.  Just in case it becomes even cheaper around Christmas, I can always return it.

I order the Naked City for $25.00 from Amazon.com

http://www.amazon.co...=the naked city

The price looks strange as it is offer for $25.00. I order it as the price is price I cannot resist!

^There should be no need for that.  If a pre-order price drops Amazon will automatically give you the lower price.

^^It looks like they are price matching WM.

I had a order in at $99.99, but canceled and re-ordered because I was too uptight to trust I'd get the $25.00 price, even though I've never had any trouble with the pre-order guarantee before...now if only they'd drop the price on the Mary Hartman set, I'll be in good shape for the holidays. -_-

Amazon apparently just discovered the error.  The updated page is up at $99.99.

Link here

I ordered the earlier price about an hour ago at $25.

Walmart's price is still $25.48

^Now we'll see if Amazon will actually honor those ~$25 purchases.  Based on a B1G1 fiasco from a few years ago I tend to think they'll back charge with a "sorry about that" email.

I'm hoping that only a small number of people got in on that price and Amazon will just let it slide.  We'll have to wait and see.

I didn't know that Amazon would not honor a pre-order price as I thought their policy states that but since reading your info about the past, I'm not sure what will happen to this one.

Good point.  I guess we'll see in a couple of weeks how it all shakes out.

My order still says the lower price.    I hope they will honor it and frankly they should but I won't scream if they don't since I had first pre-ordered in May at the original price.

They should give us the opportunity to cancel the order. They shouldn't be able to back charge us without an option to cancel, right?

My preorder price of $99 was dropped to the $25 price yesterday (Sunday). As of today (Monday), it is still at the $25 price.

I read somewhere on Amazon that the preorder lower price guarantee price adjustment can take up to 24 hours to show up on your order.

We'll see what happens.

I ordered for $25 originally. My understanding is they can drop the price without notice but they can't charge me more than I originally authorized without my consent. If they do without giving me the chance to cancel the order, we will have words.

Give them hell???? What for? A mistake was made which has been corrected. Why would anyone in their right mind expect a business to sell a product for $25 that should be $99? They are not a charity! At $99 it is being sold at a good discount!

Will Walmart honor the $25.48 price?  My conscience would be clear, because the three heirs of the Walton family increase their wealth by about $2 billion a year, which comes to $5.5 million a DAY.

Yes, a day.

So they don't need the money.  I do.  And I like "Naked City".  And naked other things.  But I don't like naked greed.

Anyway, if I order this on Walmart.com when the price says $25.48, will they honor that, or say, "It was a mistake.  And the Waltons need every penny they can get"?

It makes no difference what anyone "in their right mind" thinks.  Amazon posted the price for $25.  By their own terms or service they have to honor the price.  Do you really think they will bicker over what is less than a penny to them?  They are the largest e commerce retailer in the world and they know it.   If I as a consumer ordered a product at $25 I expect to pay $25.  If they don't honor the price they posted they loose my business.  Several others will cancel their orders as well.  It's not worth it to them.  Trust me, they will honor the price!

I think that those of us who cancelled and then placed the order again at the lower price have a better chance than those that relied on Amazon to do a price drop on their own.

Looks like Walmart corrected the mistake at their site.  It's now listed as $152.98 with a status of "out of stock online".

Okay, now that everything is what it is, let those of us that pre-ordered at the lower price be "very, very quiet."  We are, after all, hunting wabbits.  No need to alert them of our presence.  :)

For the record, I'm only kidding.  Either Amazon will honor the pre-order prices or they won't.

I'll be very surprised if Amazon doesn't honor the $25 price . It was their mistake . I've never had an issue with Amazon in the past and I don't expect one on this . Hell , I spend enough money with Amazon .
