its the 199 min cut, sorry couldnt wait, the opening states that it is frome the best possible source material, no heavy DNR that i see so far, and lovely grain, solid from what i see so far, from the first 30 min so far, makes me wish i had a 40 foot screen in the back yard!

i was going to wait as well but that is a costly week for me so far, Ten Commandments and Sherlock Holmes so this was an easy decision

Question - I picked this up at Wal-Mart today also and put it in when I arrived home. While it has the Intermission, Entr'acte, and Exit Music, the Overture seems a lot shorter than I recall. I don't have the DVD to compare, so I will leave it up to y'all to tell me if is longer or am I crazy. It does continue the Fox policy of the Entr'acte and Exit Music playing on a black screen overture and the films opens up on a black screen that very shortly moves to the Main Titles. On a side note, I wish the other companies would play the overtures, etc on a black screen.

I agree with the other poster in that there is grain showing on the transfer that makes it look very film like. Thank goodness it was DNR to much. Sound is also very striking. Couple of Documentaries, Deleted Scene and trailer are included.

Another interesting point at Wal-Mart is that they had the new transfer of THE TEN COMMANDMENTS on standard DVD for sale, but no sight of the Blu-ray editions.

And I would also have waited to save a couple of dollars, from Amazon, but the shipping would have taken care of that.

Allen,

that is the other reason i picked it up shipping would have made it the same, doing a comparison with the 2001 DVD, my word almost 10 years to the day the SE was released and the difference is amazing, will go back and check the run time of the music on the DVD, the only thing that i noticed was that there was an occasional flicker at the bottom a few times during the night scenes

Being a prime member, the shipping cost for this particular release doesn't apply to me.

If you find another item to buy the shipping is free if the total is $25.

that is a busy release week, and i see more that intrest me, so today was a wise decision,

it contains the two featurettes on the SE release (He Walks In Beauty and Filmmaker Doc), Trailer and deleated Scene; Allen mentioned earlier that he thought the intro was shorter, i bounced back and forth and i dont think that it is, the odd part is that the intermission is a few seconds longer on the blu, checked it 3 times

2001 SE start intermission 1:59:47

stop intermission 2:02:55

2011 Blu start intermission 1:59:47

stop Intermission 2:03:01
