Visio TV problems (1 Viewer)

I purchased the Visio 42" LCD flatscreen from Sams Club and installed about a week ago. The problem that I am having is that every so often the TV starts to screech really loud and the picture gets real distorted and the remote or the buttons on the TV will not shut it off. The only way to shut it off is to unplug the TV which is a pain since it is mounted on the wall. Has anyone else heard of this happening or had experiance with it. Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance.

i woudn't mess around with it. just return it. something like that isn't going to correct itself. it's only gonna get worse.
