(CC) after a title = New release in the Criterion Collection.

Individual titles included in box sets listed above:

That’s Black Entertainment: A three-part documentary consisting of Celebrating Legendary Black Comedians, Celebrating Legendary Black Actors, Celebrating Legendary Black Westerns (each also available separately).

The Disclaimer
Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

"LP" in the RoundUp table means a store’s Sunday flyer says "Low Price". That means I could not locate a definite price for the item, and the ad is all I have to go on. Retailers use these phrases in advertisements so that they do not violate MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) agreements with the studios. Doing so can cost them thousands or even millions of dollars in co-op advertising funds.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, as always, Circuit City does not guarantee their sale prices in Hawaii.

Thanks for the RoundUp, guys!

Ugh.

Nothing for me this week. But, I have to admit you had me going there for a minute, Mike, when I saw that Night Stalker price reduction. Then, I quickly realized it is not the classic McGavin version. Instead, it is that awful, short-lived series from last season.

Double ugh! Posted Image

Doctor Who for me!

I had to head over to CC's web site to make sure those LOTR discs were not the newest releases with those new docs... Might have sprung for them at that price!

Thanks guys!

That would be true due to regional differences, but they show up as #3.99 titles in my circular. Also, that link goes to a different set of $9.99 titles.

Another week of nothing, but thanks guys.

Mike, I see you've grown as a film fan. IIRC, a few weeks ago you barely knew who Dane Cook was and now he's in your featured pic of the week (although I think Miss Simpson may have more to do with that). Posted Image

I saw a copy of 24 (that, unfortunately, was cut open and the disc was taken out of) at a Best Buy last week and the ticket said $9.99 so I'd assume that'll be their price on Tuesday as well.

I'll be picking up:
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning
24: Season Six Premiere. Call me a sucker but I want to see the first act of episode 5 that's included. Posted Image

Ding! I almost went with a solo pic of Miss Simpson but thought that would be considred gratuitous! Posted Image Then, when I saw that one of the two fellas in this picture was Dane Cook (who I went on about a coupla weeks ago--not knowing who he was) I figured it ws a no-brainer. Whether or not that particular act makes me more of a "film fan", I'm not so sure!

The Doctor Who photo is also unique. It is the second time I've used it in the RoundUp. I used it when the 1st Series premiered on DVD and was quickly corrected by fans that I had chosen a photo featuring the 2nd Series Doctor Who.

I learn a lot on this job! Posted Image

Another week (4 out of the last 5) with no new standard DVD releases I'm interested in. Will pick up Clerks II & The Sting on HD-DVD , however, and maybe some of the $9.99 titles at BB.

Three truths about movies, as noted by Roger Ebert:

* It's not what a movie is about, it's how it is about it.

* No good movie is too long, and no bad movie is short enough.

* No good movie is depressing, all bad movies are depressing.
