This is awesome news!!! Not only is DuckTales coming but Chip & Dale as well! It's great that Disney is jumping on the bandwagon more.

August 11, 2005 - Now this is exciting news! Disney has just announced that they will release 3-disc box sets of late '80s/early '90s animated television series "DuckTales" and "Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers" on November 8th! The few details available now have just been posted in a DVD Fact Sheet. The sets (which will each carry a $34.99 SRP) will mark only the second time a Disney TV cartoon has come to DVD in multi-disc format. We'll have more on these as soon as it comes in.

Wonderi f these will be Best Of's or Volumes in Chronological Order. Probably the Former.

What I'd REALLY like for disney to do is put out DVDs for Raw Toonage (You could get the Complete series of that show in one set. It's somewhat of a Cult Hit), or Bonkers.

I almost completely forgot about Darkwing Duck. Now, THAT's a Disney cartoon show that needs a DVD release.

Now THIS is exciting news!!!

I also hope these will be in chronologiucal broadcast order and not compilation style, especially for Ducktales based on the continuity & progression of the series!

I can't wait for both of these, it's about damn time!!!

Disney animated afternoon blocks have been among my most wanted TV releases EVER... FINALLY!!!

Hopefully these sets will be something like the WB is doing with the Batman Toons where they split up the series in volumes, b/c the # of episodes per season is so erratic.

Yes, these are definite buys, if indeed they are chronological, as WB's Batman sets are (which have been some of the most successful cartoon DVDs for WB, I've read).

Well, as usual, if the episodes are uncut, I'm good for a copy.

Now how about the Gummi Bears...

Enough is enough, Disney. We DEMAND the release Song of the South on Blu-ray.

Nice.
I'll be getting Ducktales sets if they're done right.
but I still want Gummi Bears, Darkwing Duck, The Tick, all of the Saban/Marvel shows and probably a few more.

Thank you Disney, I am definitely getting both of these.

I hope they get to Gummi Bears as well as the rest of the Disney Afternoon shows like Talespin.

So the question is, will these be single or dual sided discs? Single sided means about 18-21 episodes in the set, while dual sided would boost it to 36-42 eps -- about half the series for Chip 'n' Dale, and a third of Duck Tales.

I've never bought a Disney DVD, so I don't know if they've ever used dual sided.

I'm guessing dual-layered, I think most of Disney's releases have been this way.

I was just thinking about this the other day! This is awesome!

Hopefully Disney is smart enough to add something about the impact and inspiration of Carl Barks on this series. A good 30 minute documentary would be nice.

I wonder why they decided to go with Rescue Rangers as their other release? I much would have preferred Talespin or Darkwing.

Another Point of concern for the Ducktales and Rescue Rangers sets is will they have their original closings restored.

Explanation:

The Final Card of The Original Broadcasts of Ducktales, Chip 'n' Dale Rescue Rangers, The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, and Gummi Bears featured a unique Buena Vista television closing Card featuring a Red/Yellow/Orange Sleeping Beauty's Castle against a violet background. Early (pre-1996) Disney Channel ariings of the shows preserved the logo, but later Disney Channel (and Toon Disney) airings replaced the logo with the standard Walt Disney Television logo (White Sleeping Beauty's caslte against a light blue background, almost identical to the old Walt Disney Pictures logo).
Although Minor, The episodes won't really be "Complete" without the logo, and i hope Disney restores them.

TVShowsOnDVD just posted a POSSIBLE list of episodes:
http://www.tvshowson...cfm?NewsID=3913

3) "Where No Duck Has Gone Before"
4) "Armstrong"
5) "Robot Robbers"
6) "Magica's Shadow War"
7) "Master Of The Djinni"
8) "Hotel Strangeduck"
9) "The Lost Crown Of Genghis Khan"
10) "Duckman of Aquatraz"
11) "The Money Vanishes"
12) "Sir Gyro de Gearloose"
13) "Dinosaur Ducks"
14) "Hero For Hire"
15) "Superdoo!"
16) "Maid Of The Myth"
17) "Down And Out In Duckberg"
18) "Much Ado About Scrooge"
19) "Top Duck"
20) "The Pearl Of Wisdom"
21) "The Curse Of Castle McDuck"
22) "Launchpad's Civil War"
23) "Sweet Duck Of Youth"
24) "Earthquack"
25) "Home Sweet Homer"
26) "Bermuda Triangle Tangle"
27) "Microducks From Outer Space"

We're also told that no extras have been mentioned so far.

I hope they dont leave out the pilot in this volume set. It wouldn't make much sense for them to do so.

The list I just posted is how Toon Disney aired them. So, I guess Toon Disney aired them in production order rather than airdate order? Or is the way Disney releasing it on DVD production and not airdate order?
