John, I'm seeing a red x for #4b although your previous shots show up fine.

*edit*

It shows up now!

John, I said I'd play, but wanted to apologize, went out of town unexpectedly and returned to computer 'issues'.
Thanks to Jon for the last game, and congrats to Ray on winning it.
Beautiful Screenshots, hope I can join in next one!

Mary, there is no reason not to play anyway. Only one person can win, and winning isn't the only point. Look at SteveGon, he plays, and he sucks at it.

My server seems to be down, so I will wait a while to post the answer and the next movie.

SteveGon & me both!!!

I'll try to pop in. Love the shots. The only I have seen is The Cell. I agree that its underrated.

Okay I rushed in late and here are my guesses!
Screenshot 1: Hamlet
Screenshot 2: The Proposition
Screenshot 3: The Cell

Screenshot 4: no idea but that tree looks oh-so familiar.

Am I caught up now!

Adam, your problem seeing 4b yesterday probably wasn't Firefox, since I use Firefox. The server was just being twitchy and probably wasn't working the first time you checked.

Screenshot #4 Answer: Pride & Prejudice (2005)

I seem to recall someone here foolishly referred to this wonderful film as a "chick-lit reduction". Sure, it has its fluff, and it is a bit modernized in some senses, but it is also a thoroughly joyous bit of filmmaking. Those shots sure look "Greenaway", don't you think?

That makes 4 out of 4 I haven't seen, but yeah, that second shot in particular does look quite Greenaway, now that you mention it.

Yeah, I mainly meant the second shot. Not the final shot at all. I highly recommend giving that movie a try Martin. Don't get wrapped up in the source too much, if you have read it, just enjoy the filmmaking, and let it have its sappy final scene.

I'm much better at explaining what's in the shot than figuring out what the shot is from, I'm guessing "Red Rower, Blue Rain" is not the title of this one.

Well, I've seen The Notebook, but it really didn't linger in my mind (now if you'd used certain other screencaps I may have gotten it!).

Not sure about the current one.

I do suck at this, the irony being that I probably watch more movies than the rest of you combined. ('cept for Bill.) :D

My stupid server is down...again. HTF has some sort of image caching, so the current image may or may not show up.

The server has been pretty twitchy the last week.

Now it's working. If this happens, just check back in 5-10 minutes and refresh the page. If the image in my sig is not showing up, then my server is down.
