What's wrong with Bose speakers? I have some friends who have them and they sound fantastic. There has to be something wrong with them. :)

Way, way, way, way, way, way, way overpriced for what you get.
They are pretty much no better than $50 Altec Lansing computer speakers. Cheap parts and inferior sound at gaggingly high prices.

Thanks guys. So, what kind of speakers do you recommend for around 1200-1300 bux for the whole package? [5 satellites and a sub](I really like the acoustimass-15 system)

Look at the Definitive Technology speaker packages.
Paradigm also has a lot of different lines of speakers in their Monitor Series that you could match together for that kind of money.
Also look at Acoustic Energy's AEGIS line. Another is PSB's Image Series.
You don't necessarily have to go with little speakers in the front (and maybe even in the rear) at that price range with these companies.
All of these will give you much better sound for the money.
Maybe augement the main 5 (or 6 or 7 depending on if you want a 6.1 or 7.1 surround decoder) speakers with an SVS subwoofer since they are a great bang vs. buck product.

Energy is one to look at. Try the Encore setup.
Paradigm will get you great quality for a good price.
Try a Titan mains, CC170 center, atoms rears, and a PDR 10 sub. Bet you'll love the sound.

Definitive Tech...makes some nice speakers in that price range,
Energy's take 5.2 series is decent..
Also look into Phase Technologies....I run the 6.5 and 7.5 speakers for my 5 channels (dual SVS for the Sub) I got them for a grand for the 5. Absolutely sick for the price :)

I really like my Mirage setup. The price is not too shabby.
