Paramount, release the underrated THE KEEP on DVD.

It's directed by Michael Mann, who has become a famous filmmaker with credits such as LAST OF THE MOHICANS, THE INSIDER, MANHUNTER, HEAT, and the upcoming ALI.

Now, THE KEEP needs to be on DVD.

It would be nice if there was lots of features, but I know this won't happen.

This flick is a great GOOD v.s. EVIL film.

I would buy the DVD, even if it is just wide-screen and has just the trailer.

I just ask that someone re-master the picture and audio.

That's all Paramount.

I'd buy it in a New York minute! Bring it on, Paramount. Just don't let Mann make a "Director's Cut" - the movie is fine as it is.

While no one expects a "director's cut" on THE KEEP, it would be a nice, low-cost addition to include the alternate ending that has recently appeared in cable and syndicated broadcasts of the movie. I think seeing the shift in tone between what was shown in theatres and what has been shown on television would be interesting for us fans of the film.

Another vote for this one. Pretty cool little flick. I'd like to revisit it so I'll wait for the DVD.

Mark, you're right - it would be interesting to see that alternate ending again. I only saw it once (on New York's Channel 11). Just as long as they keep it an alternate ending!

An odd movie, but that's the way I like 'em! Bring it on, Paramount!

I would love to see this on DVD, but it was such a troubled production that I would definitely feel cheated unless I could view all the alternate and deleted scenes. I've never been able to figure out who these supernatural characters (e.g., "Glaeken Trismegistos", "Molasar"???) were from any of the cuts of this film I've seen. One shouldn't have to read the source novel in order get such basic story information.

JoeG: It was probably sitting on his desk at work :) . In case you didn't know, Mr. Blythe is an executive at Paramount (I forget his official title).

Blythe is the Vice-President of Public Relations for Paramount Home Video.

Hopefully, the disc will restore scenes that make clear what the background of the story is in ways that the versions I've seen never have. Who the heck are the these characters and where do they come from? I still don't know.
