I just got the MGM Holiday Collection, the GREAT news is MARCH OF THE WOODEN SOLDIERS finally gets the treatment it deserves! The film carries it's original title on the main credits "BABES IN TOYLAND" and the film has a gloss to it. It is crystal clear and the best I have seen it on any home viewing format from Super 8 to video tape to dvd! There is no extras on the disc but WOW it is a joy to watch. Only print damage of note is the last real where there is a line in the right near the right border but that is not distracting. I would love to know if MGM had access to the original neg! And it is amazing how these corporate changes happen and now 70 plus years after the film's release it is back to being a MGM release! The film as we all know was originally produced Hal Roach but released by MGM, Roach got the rights to the title back then sold them off to another distributor and the title changed hands many times but is now back to MGM!
By the way I watched the opening credits to POCKETFUL OF MIRACLES and just after Glen Ford's credit and Bette Davis' too there seems to be a splice, dropout or something I was wondering does anyone have the disc and is this indeed on the print or a dvd defect?
