After reading pages and pages of posts, I decided on a Onkyo system. The choice was between Onkyo and Fluance, but the convienience of a B&M made the choice simple. Well, after reading up here, I went to Circuit City with the intention of buying a cheap Sherwood reciever and a Onkyo speaker package. Walking in, the entire store was blasting with Sean Paul; turned out it was from an Onkyo HTS760 6.1 system. It sounded amazing. I bought the HTIB for $500 and change. I just want to thank you guys for the heads up about Onkyo and recommend this setup to anyone that asks "What can I get for $500 blah blah blah?"
BTW, the sound at home is excellent. The reciever has every conceivable connection (at least to this burgeoning audiophile,) looks stylish, has an excellent universal remote and most importantly pumps out some awesome sound; crystal clear center, solid fronts, solid rears, and thumping bass. Thanks again to HTF members and this is definitely the first place i'll visit when I decide to upgrade in the near future..
