John, you are on the ball. These fuse-equipped speakers were Polk Model 10s... And they are from the early 80s...
And these are real fuses: a thin wire in a glass tube... That must mean the signal for the tweeter passes through that short, thin wire, designed to blow... Life's little tradeoffs... Tho the Polk Model 10s were very good in their generation...
