Hi! I'm planning to set-up a good home theater.
I already have a choice for the DVD player but
deciding for the right receiver is my prob.
I need to decide between my two personal choice:
Denon Avr-682/1602 or Yamaha Rx-V620.
My budget plays around this model only, thats why I
can't choose any other higher models :frowning:.
I'm confused with all the reviews I get co'z it seems
like both of them are good. But I know one of them
will still turn out to be a better choice.
So which is the better or should I say the best
between the two?
Any help will be very much appreciated. thanks! :)

Michael, My vote is for the Denon. But the best thing to do is demo both receivers and see which one sounds the best to you. Try using the same speakers you are going to be using at home or at least the same set of speakers in the store when demoing.

I demoed both of these. I listened to them through the same set of speakers in the same room. Barely discernable difference, though it seemed the Denon gave cleaner reproduction of the highs. The Denon also had some additional features:
-Pro-Logic II (when I was looking the yammis didn't have that yet, not sure about now).
-Slightly better connectivity options (I think, can't quite remember, I know they were better on the 1802, which is why I went that way).
If you don't mind factory refurbished consider the Marantz 5200 its $399 at Accessories 4 Less.com. It comes with a 1 year warrantee. I don't believe it allows for two sets of speakers (A/B), which is why I didn't get it.

My vote for Denon as well. I have it with paradigm speaker system and outside of the crappy remote I'm extremely happy with it

Another :emoji_thumbsup: for the Denon. I also own the 1602 and yes, the remote isnt the greatest, but it works. The receiver is very easy to setup & use. Great for a beginner like myself. And for now, I see no reason I would need to upgrade to high dollar units.

Yet another vote for Denon from me, I like the yamaha to but the denon seemed to sound cleaner and also has Pro LogicII, I when with the 1802 for its video switching.

But what you like is all that counts.
