Just curious if i hook up my 15" sub from my car to my Onkyo 5.1 receiver if it will work??? Do i just run an RCA from the Sub-Out on the receiver to the sub, then at the sub cut the rca connector and wire the + and - wires accordingly to the sub???? is it that simple??? thanks

No. Your "car" sub is passive. You need an amp between the LFE (subwoofer) output of your Onkyo and the sub. After you add an amp, it may work. What impedance is your sub? What kind of enclosure? If ported, what is the tuning frequency? What driver are you using?

Send the LFE RCA cable to an ampliflier, ideally one designed for powering a sub. The car sub in a proper enclosure will probably work pretty well. Make sure the amp you buy can deal with whatever ohm rating the speaker is.
