Unlike the NFL, many MLB teams get more monies from their local TV broadcasts than the national broadcasts. Also, local radio rights can generate some monies. Just to give you some perspective, each team gets 40M a year from just the national broadcasts. In some local markets, teams can get more than that and sometimes, twice that amount from their local TV and radio broadcasts. That's a lot of dough!Malcolm R said:Where are the teams getting all this money for these huge contracts? Most ballparks are half-full at best for most regular season games, and the major networks are not interested in regularly televising games any more so TV money must be down. Is it all corporate sponsors?
