"Does that mean this guy thinks Son of Flubber is actually greater than Citizen Kane?" then allow me to say "Indeed I do."
I don't think it's as odd that you prefer Son of Flubber as it is that you don't think Citizen Kane is even in the top 100 of greatest films of all time.

Citizen Kane is a great movie, I don't dispute that. It was on my list of about 150 that I slowly whittled down to a hundred. There are other movies that were harder to cut, including Some Like it Hot, Jaws, The Thin Man and Sullivan's Travels. Holding myself to a hundred was a lot harder than I thought it would be.

Well, I haven't really been alive long enough to watch enough movies to amass a top 100, so I'll just spout out about 25 or so of my top ones, starting with my elite top five, in no particular order:

Fight Club

Gladiator

Terminator 2

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

Ferris Bueller's Day Off

And some others that don't quite make the top five:

The Godfather

Office Space

Black Hawk Down

Saving Private Ryan

Apocolypse Now

Platoon

Rear Window

Orgazmo

LOTR:FOTR

Patton

To Kill A Mockingbird

The Rock

Men In Black

Unforgiven

Forrest Gump

Braveheart

O Brother, Where Art Thou?

The Big Lebowski

Blazing Saddles

National Lampoon's Vacation

American Beauty

Austin Powers: Internation Man of Mystery

Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure

Happy Gilmore(some things just can't be explained)

Falling Down

Jaws

A Christmas Story

Die Hard

Dr. Strangelove

Toy Story 2

That's my top 35, keep in mind I have yet to see such supposed classics as Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark, On The Waterfront, Casablanca, Citizen Kane, Se7en, The Usual Suspects, I could go on like this all night.

Bump

I knew this would happen with all the tournaments going on, which is why I tried to place this in the movie section.

In the event this thread dies again, I just want to thank everyone for contributing their lists.

Jay,
I don't think it has anything to do with the tourneys. Putting together a Top 100 is a doozy of a project, particularly to the more active HTFers, who I assume would not dream of offering a lazy, half-assed effort.
I enjoyed putting my list together, although even now I'd like to make about 17 alterations! :)

You're right Scott on that point. I myself love the tournaments, it's just that a thread such as this will get lost quicker with such competition. I hate bumping threads, and I know the administrators are not crazy about it either, I was just hoping for some more lists so that I would have enough to tally.
And I also would like to change a few of my picks but I'm holding off on it. Maybe a 200 favorite movies list would be a good...:)

Come on folks. With so many opinionated people on these forums we should be able to get a few more top 100 lists than this.

It's going to take a lot of time. What about films that contain a significant chunk of foreign language, like The Godfather Part II?

The Godfather II or any other film that contains large segments of foreign language is fine.
