So the Phillips is HDTV ready and it will give me the best picture available right now? Any reason why I should wait 6 months to buy one? I mean is there anything ground breaking coming out that I should hold out for?

Jakarta,
Samsung will be releasing 2 new DLP sets. But it will cost you more then 2300. The 60" they hav out right now is in the 5000 range but they do have a 50" and will have a 56 and 46 in May. But like I said you will have to fork over more for these babies.

I'm certainly no expert, but, setting a 60" inch screen paramater greatly limits your options, as you have selected a number that is exactly in the middle of the two most common classes (55" and 65"). Unless exactly 60" is a hard parameter for some reason, you might be better off stating:

Best 16:9 HD RPTV over 55" for $2,500.00.

This assumes that widescreen, HD and RPTV are part of your requirements.
