The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp
. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain!
If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, Circuit City is still out of business...even in Hawaii (where they NEVER guaranteed their prices anyway).

Just Justice League: Doom this week. That's an insanely low price for a DC BD on release week.

Thanks Mike!

I see some stuff there with my name on it. If emptying my wallet is any proof, Mike is back in full force. But I must resist. The poor thing needs some rest!

Can't wait to see Hugo, although I REALLY thought that a movie like that would play better on the big screen...just never made it.

Glad to have you back, Mike!

Hugo 3D combo pack from Best Buy for me this week; I got a $5 Reward Zone certificate I want to use up. I don't have a 3D rig yet, but in theaters this was second behind only Avatar among great 3D experiences. I know I'll want to experience that again at some point.

Me too. I also wanted to see it on the big screen, but I guess my home setup will have to suffice. Just Hugo for me this week which is good since I've been spending a lot on discs this year.

Went to Best Buy after a dentist appointment, picked up the last copy of the 3D Blu-Ray for Hugo, and got home to find an email in my inbox from Best Buy with a coupon for triple rewards points with purchase. Ain't that always the way.

Okay, I got that email from BB this afternoon, but the way it reads, it's good through March 3rd -- when you pre-order by February 27th, which was, let me see...about a day before I got the email. Am I missing something?

Whoops. When you get to the coupon printing stage there's another line stating it's good in-store from Feb. 28th to whatever, so if it works tomorrow, I might just be pushed over the edge.

I'm pretty much done with Best Buy at this point. They never seem to have what I want when I go in (Justice League: Doom, in this case). There were a grand total of 1 copy between the DVD and BD's. The movie came out yesterday. I don't really believe this DTV movie is flying off the shelves because of its superior quality. Only 3 of the closest 10 stores to me are showing as being in stock. Why is it unavailable? Did some stores not get a shipment?

Another customer was asking for the same thing to a Blue Shirt. The response was they were completely sold out. Really? Then the Blue Shirt asked me if I needed help. I told him I was looking for the same thing the previous customer was looking for. He sheepishly said "Sorry" as I walked out.

I picked it up at Target-yes, I know it's $2 more expensive than Amazon, but with shipping included (under $25), Amazon would have been more expensive in the end.

The moral of the story isn't that BB lost a $16 sale. It's that I'm not going back. Amazon price matches pretty much everything and for the stuff they don't PM, fine. I'm on a crusade to cut down on my movie buying anyway.

^ A lot of times I order from Bestbuy.com for free in-store pickup for just that reason. Got sick of everything being sold out. They've really scaled back their movie section in recent years.
