I always kind of chuckle at those on the forums that go on and on about how much they dislike the cover artwork on whatever new release is coming up…
But then I found a cover so bad I needed to speak up 😳
What the heck is up with the cover art for this release?!?

These limited edtion sets that Universal is releasing are the reverse of what studios use to do. They formerly released the box of junk sets first and later a disc only version. Sometimes they released both at the same time. They should sell the box of junk without the discs for those who bought the films when they first came to 4K.

I. AM. NOT. BUYING. THESE. AGAIN.
Ha, yup, I'm very happy with the Blu-rays, Universal did an amazing job with those old films. I'm not that keen on that cover (looks a bit sixties psychedelia), like everyone else, I do love those old VHS covers & I think something along those lines would have been better.

The great thing about this release is that the initial 4K sets of these films are going down in price. The 4K restoration of these films is shockingly good. Even I was on the fence because I questioned just how much better films of this age could look. Welp...there was no buyer's remorse there.

Still waiting for individual 4K UHD releases of the second 4-film boxset with Bride etc...

Only the first 4-film boxset has been released individually

I was hoping the sequel films. Now I don't think it's going to happen.
Fingers crossed for HITCHCOCK 4K Volume 3 in October.

The legacy blu ray set is gorgeous and I just can't bring myself to buy these again. Not after already doing so twice on blu. Maybe at some point if the price point gets low enough.

The original 4K set prices have dropped to the point where they're $10 a movie, which for films of this vintage, is fine by me. This repackaging is fine if you like the art, but if you're just into it for the films, the original two volumes are great. Very handsome packaging and brilliant restoration.
