Hi all,
I started doing this just at DVD Talk (where I've since been "banned" ), but I think it actually works better among the entire DVD community. The more people that vote the better!
Anyway, here are the rules:
What are your favourite movies on dvd? Here is an attempt to compile the ultimate listings.
List your Top Ten favourite discs in your collection (taking into account the extras, the video/audio quality, as well as the movie itself), in order of preference. Mark draws if applicable. Points will be divided between them thus: 1st, 7 points/2nd, 6 points/3rd, 5 points/ 4th, 4 points/ 5th-10th 3 points each.
eg.
1st = 7 points
1st = 7 points
3rd = 5 points
4 = 4
4 = 4
6 = 3
7 = 3
8 = 3
9 = 3
10 = 3
IMPORTANT: If all Ten Films are equally placed, the order you write them will be taken into consideration.
I've calculated everyone's results from DVDTalk who's voted thus far. I understand there will be crossover from the forums - if you voted there, please don't vote again here. It's posted at DVDFile too. Almost 100 people have responded. I don't have an exact goal, but I hope to have the final results posted before Christmas.
Vote once - voting ends December 18.
I'll be creating a site with the final results. You can see the current results this far on DVD Talk.
Note, you're voting for the top 10 DVD releases: The Ultimate Toy Box counts as one, the Godfather Collection counts as one, The Simpsons Season 1 counts as one, etc.
It will be interesting to see what the consensus in the DVD community is as to the best DVDs of all-time. I'm looking forward to counting all your votes and compiling the Definitive (until next year's 4Q anyway ) Top 100 DVDs list.
