I love The Shield, but the one carbon copy character on the show that I pegged from season one is Dutch Boy. He started out like and is following the same exact character arc as Balis on "Homicide: Life on the Street". If he becomes bisexual and sleeps in a coffin, Barry Levinson's gonna sue Chiklis.

I started watching the first episode of The Shield because the previews reminded me of "Homicide". It did kind of look like Homicide, right up until "Kellerman" got shot in the head by Vic. Then I was hooked.

I wasn't all that jazzed about Dutchboy getting played by the Cuddler (did I ever think I'd ever write that sentence?). Seriously, this is a case of the curiousity getting the best of the cat.

More Dog-girl, please.

Less Corinne, please.

More Dani UC, please.

Less Mara, please.

Cleetus is really on the defensive now. Does he really think by marrying Mara that Vic won't do what needs to be done if she gets out of line?

I have no idea who to sympathize with on the show. Not sure that's a bad thing, though.

We're way past the middle.

I imagine once the season has concluded it will get a replay. I think the season ends a couple weeks into June.

It's true. I saw Chiklis on "The Best Damn Sport Show" a month or two ago, and he mentioned that they were just wrapping up the 15th episode for the season finale.

I don't want them to turn Dutch into a sociopath.

There have been little hints throughout the season that might happen, and the "curiosity killed the cat" thing last week really upped the possibility of that happening.

We need to have at least one "boy scout" on the show.

When they gave Julian anger control problems this season, it really hurt his character (a character that used to be interesting, but is now simply boring).

The reason that I still think Season 2 is the best for this show is that the main characters (despite flaws) really had a "likable" quality about them. The writers didn't feel the need to have everyone become "edgy."

I know that the writers want to kept the pot stirring and shake things up, but still....

You need a shower after watching this show, that last scene was disturbing with Dutch.

I hope it was just him trying to explore the criminal mind (even so it was inexcusable), but if he has turned to the dark side, that will really be awful.

I agree, lets keep dutch boy they way we like him.... We don't need another bad apple per say in the show. It will definatly be interesting to see how they wrap up this season........

I thought "Riceburner" was okay, not a great A plot, but plenty of B subplots a-brewing within the Strike Team (Cleetus's marriage comes to light, the team not letting Vic have some of the money for his children's therapist), and also with the G-man's vigilance over the Money Train money.

But next week looks much more interesting as internal strife within the Strike Team takes its toll.

My favorite line...
Claudette: Dutch, you look like hell, that cat still keeping you up all night?
Dutch: No.

Felt last nights episode was so-so. Not great, but not bad either. However the tension over the money train cash is certainly heating up. Anyone else think they are going to lose the money? Or just get rid of it because of all the pressures and headaches? Besides, its not they can ever cash in, otherwise, there would be no more show. :frowning:

Someone should of punched Cleetus for trying to blame Ronnie and his partner for voting against Vic, Cleetus is the reason they had to vote against him.

Didn't the Strike team have some cash holed away before the money train cash came in? Thought that Vic would be able to dip into that instead.

-Lem is about to blow a gasket...between his beef with Cletus over Tavon to the money train unraveling.

-Sick stuff with the kiddie porn. Hope they tie that up before the season ends.

-Diego gets whacked...that's what you get for hanging out with this crew.

-Vic desperately trying to keep things from falling apart, at work and at home ....great show!

Wow, this episode is getting back to what the older episodes did, pushing the limits of being extreme, gritty, and tense! Not to say I didn't like the previous episodes which had less going on relating to the money train, as they set up a bunch of storylines which should finally become resolved, in one way or another.

Liked:

Tavon is alive and well, and said he'll be back with the group.
Lem looks like he'll be going nuts.
Dog Girl!
The Decoy Squad returned for a short stint.
Margo dafootchopper is back and probably knows about Vic and his crew.

Disliked:

Realizing as I was watching next week's episode preview, there's only 2 episodes left this season. :frowning:
