I was only watching the DVD on an upscaling player the other day, thinking of how wonderful the film would look on Blu-ray... Warners, keep this up and I'll be a poor but very happy person.

Great news!! I thought we would have to wait until next year for the 50th anniversary.

Those are the same from the DVD release, nothing new was added for the blu-ray debut though. WB has tons of stuff in it's archives, if only they just gave a damn and weren't so lazy most of the time.

This will be released less than a week after my birthday, so this is among the greatest of news releases for me!

    Thank you, Warners!

The only companies adding new bonus to their releases are 3rd party licensors like Criterion or Shout Factory. The major studios only do it on the evergreen titles some of the time (such as all the WB Anniversary releases).

Well, well, well. Perhaps that 43rd release of The Wizard of Oz did pay for something new after all. :P

Fans of the film have been literally begging Warners to release this on blu. So their wish is granted and guess what ..... some people still aren't satisfied. What do you want to bet when/if Raintree County finally sees the light of day on blu/DVD someone will complain about something? "Taylor's eyes aren't violet enough, Warners needs to go back and remaster this!"

I don't care about new extras, I'm just thrilled the film is finally here in HD.

To each his own, but I am so happy about this release! Much happier (ahem) than about a certain Criterion release about a Mad World (although I am happy that RAH & Co. was able to produce such a magnificent package). :)
