I recently purchased A Def Tech package but will be returning due to the Def Techs being on the bright side. I am looking to give the Swan's a try. When I purchased the Def Techs I got the Pro100 sub at a real good price. This sub is 250watts with 10" driver (ported). The Swan sub is 250 watts with dual 10" drivers (closed sysytem). Would the design of the sub with 2 drivers be necessarly better sounding (mostly HT use)or as in most cases does it come down to individual listening?

From a pricing perspective, the Swan would be $50.00 more so I view pricing as not an issue and obvioulsy it would match the Swans if I kept them.

Have you considered looking at SVS subs? I am drawing a blank but I know that there is one member here runnig Swan speakers with svs subs and it sounds great. I would agree that you may be better off with a swan sub over a def tech. But I would chose the SVS sub over both hands down.
