Steinway Lyngdorf has announced a Q2 release of its first outdoor speaker, the Steinway & Sons Marine Speaker. Designed for use in “luxury outdoor applications” such as yacht decks, patios and pool areas, the IP65-rated speaker combines Steinway amplifiers with the company’s own processor-based calibration features.
The Marine Speaker is also designed as a full-range high-end audio speaker suited to all music types, and SL says it can “achieve the best sound performance in any environment”. With an ability to cut through outdoor noise, the two in-built 8-inch woofers and two 10-inch passive woofers on the back can convey deep and dynamic bass even when the speaker is free-standing outdoors. A dedicated 6.5-inch driver ensures a clear midrange while Steinway’s signature air motion transformer tweeter reproduces detailed high frequencies, even at high volume levels.
