Eyes Wide Shut

Just for my edification, has anyone else seen Mother, Jugs, and Speed?

Abstain (I refuse to see EWS until it's available uncensored).

Yes, a long time ago. But I remember nothing about it, except it has Bill Cosby in it.

I'm sure you are probably already aware of this, but the R3 NTSC disc is uncensored.

My recollection of Mother, Jugs, and Speed is similar to George's, BTW. I have very vague memories of this film from a television broadcast.

AAARRRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!

What a dilemma!! :frowning:

I absolutely ADORE Lynch's Blue Velvet, a film as near as perfection as a film can possibly get.

I absolutely ADORE Kubrick's final epic Eyes Wide Shut, a film as near as perfection as a film can possibly get...WITH the notable exception of that dodgy third act which was the only scene not derived from the original source novella ('Sydney Pollack explains it all for you'), an unnecessary scene which is at odds with the rest of the film.

Thus, my vote goes to the candy-colored clown that is Blue Velvet

As for the unedited Eyes Wide Shut, it has been broadcast several times on Canadian TV :) ...and so has Mother, Jugs and Speed :D

My vote: Eyes Wide Shut

And so Eyes Wide Shut wins 10 - 7.

Round 1 - Bracket 2

Lolita vs. Amelie
