Walked into that one.. Damn, could have said it was a cool juxtoposition or something other..

I must have tried to, subconsiously.. Yeah.... that's it.

Finally caught this film a while back on Blu-Ray and honestly it didn't resonate as strongly with me as most viewers in this thread. I suspect that I was expecting more of a gritty thriller vs. a film that was more akin to Brazil. Perhaps the message of inequality was too depressingly true.

Kind of had some problems with the whole 'lets get on a train' as a response to a world wide environmental catastrophe. Seems to me that the best bet would be to go underground and use nuclear power to fuel the remnants of society (ala Dr. Strangelove) but I suppose that would be a different film.

I did enjoy the production design and the performances and probably will enjoy a revisit more at some point in the future by treating the film as an allegory and not quite as literally.
