I'll be seeing the newly restored "Gone With The Wind" (not the '98 restoration, this one is totally new :p) ) at the Academy Theater tonight. I know some people had problems with the '98 version, and was wondering what to look for as far as improvements.

Are there any specific scenes that had problems?

Hmm. I wasn't aware that GWTW has had a proper restoration. Be sure to review it when you get back.

I know that the opening credits had problems because when it was last shown in theaters, the only available element for the opening was from the awful "widescreen" release from the 1970's(?) which actually letterboxed the image. I'm sure Mr. Harris knows more about this than I do. Robert?...

I'd love to see this film on the big screen. At least on my roster of films, this one is always overlooked.

Jonathan, was this screening of the newly restored version a one-off or will it be released on a large scale?
