I have a Denon 1803, and haven't had too many problems with it other that it just shuts off for no reason sometimes. I turn it on and seconds later it shuts off. It's happening at any volume I put it on, so I don't think it shuts off from strain. Any help would be great. thanks

Zach,

It cud be the receiver is sensing something "wrong," and is going into protective mode, as the Denon engineers designed.

At the very least, retrace all your speaker connections, starting at the rear of the receiver where you may be using banana plugs or bare wire stuffed into the binding posts. (It does use binding posts, yes?)

Also recheck speaker wire neatness at the speaker ends.

ANY loose strand of copper wire at the connectikon ends has the potential for shorting the circuit, putting the rcvr into its protective mode.

EDIT: I now see you posted this shut-down problem in February...so what's up I wonder...
