I remember The Love Boat as one of the staples of my childhood. Seeing the contrast in his characters between this one and The Mary Tyler Moore show was something to behold back then.

As a youngster in the 70's, Saturday nights were magical to me. The Love Boat, and Fantasy Island were my favorite ABC programming line up I've ever seen.

I was very sad to read about his passing yesterday. He was a wonderful actor. Loved him as Murray on MTM; he added so much to the ensemble especially his interactions with Ted and Sue Ann.

It's always a joy to find him pop up as a guest actor on so many shows like Perry Mason. He was also the infamous jewelry salesman who sold Rob the gaudy Empress Carlotta necklace that was the bane of Laura's existence on a memorable episode of The Dick Van Dyke Show.
