On the new 2 disc S.E. of Predator 2, the sex scene with the drug lord, Fox blurred out the guy's 'parts'. This was never on any other release before. A friend just told me this and I thought it was a joke but it isn't. I have no idea why Fox did as you can't much anyway.

Update: I just checked my Region 2 DVD and the blurring is also there :frowning:

Wow, the things people complain about. :)

Is it censored on the previous NON-SE edition?

Perhaps this was like when Laura Harring asked David Lynch to blur out her area. The drug lord may have asked of this so pictures aren't spread out on the internet.

Kinda doubt that. For one, I believe there'll be about 10 million times less interest in the P2 actor's nads than in Laura Harring's nethers. For another, if this version blurs a previously unblurred element, pervs still have access to his nads in all their glory from prior versions.

I have the original DVD, but I'll be damned if I'm going to do a frame-by-frame comparison of some dude's crotch. I don't recall ever getting a good look at that area in any incarnation of P2, but maybe they did present that info. If someone wants to check for sure, go for it!

the only thing to complain about would be that it distracts the viewer and pulls them out of the film back into reality. heehee

Wowsers! So is this film censored or not? I fully intend to get it for the improved picture quality and extras but I'm already fuming at the merest THOUGHT that it's been tampered with. Surely it doesn't matter WHAT has been blurred out, the fact remains that it's not as it was supposed to be.

All hell broke loose when the US version of the Dawn Of The Dead SE blurred out a naked women (with CG blood on a car window) yet I suspect nobody's going to be bothered about this because it's a bloke.

Come on people. Can you say "double standards"? Censorship in ALL it's forms is BAD.

Can't see any blurring on my Dutch R2 Non-SE version. You can barely see anything anyway

Um..... don't only porn movies have full frontals like that? I can't remember when was the last time I saw full frontal of a man in a Hollywood flick.

I just took a look at 1 one disc version and it seems to me its blurred in one shot and unblurred in other...might just be my shitty eye shot so don't take my word for it until we have another person agree with me. The blurring is when those alien police/FBI/whatever guys bust in and you see a body hanging on the top edge of the screen. I would assume many people have never even seen it if they had a 16:9 tv because overscan.
It look like he's blurred out to me but could also just be the way its filmed since the other shot of the body when police 1st come in you can see it clearly.

There have been a few R-Rated movies with full frontals like that. Life of Brian and Wildthings are two off the top of my head. Oh, and maybe American Gigolo?

Sideways offers a really long - and really nasty - shot of a fat naked guy as he runs down the street. Doesn't get any more full-frontal than that - the dude's flopping around and everything!

There's a full-frontal male shower shot in "The Hole" (intact on Disney's DVD). I only know this cos I happened to watch it last weekend (since I was treating myself to a mini Keira Knightley fest!) :)

This thread is useless without pics.

:D

Seriously, if a film is butchered, I will not be purchasing this or anyother "special EDITion" like it. The director wanted testies, so I want testies. I do not want to spend full price for a butchered movie.
