Actually this is more of a gallant attempt on my part to create a Pre-2000 UHD listing thread (a la Brandon Conway's brilliant thread) but I won't have all the time in the world to maintain this though I will do my best. So any help here is appreciated. If you know of a film title coming out on UHD Blu-ray that isn't listed here, feel free to list it. Keep in mind the following rules:

1. Any listing must be "a confirmed sighting" (Father Goose lingo there).
2. List the year the film came out in parenthesis.
3. List only date (or approximate date) of release if known & confirmed (Amazon listings sometimes only list the DVD or Blu release date).
4. No title discussions, other than a brief 1-sentence pertinent note.
5. Title must have been released theatrically on or before 31 December 1999.

Oh and I did consult with Brandon Conway on this. He's quite OK with this thread and even might pitch in a little but he does not have the time to maintain this like he does with the Pre-90s on Blu thread. So I'm sticking my neck out on this one somewhat.

And now on with the thread:

Grease (1978) available on 4K Blu as of 24 April 2018.
Apollo 13 (1994) available on 4K Blu.
Blade Runner (1982), The Final Cut available on 4K Blu.
Terminator 2, Judgement Day (1991) available on 4K Blu-International.

It would be nice if these could be listed by decade - I am not particularly fond of the 80s and 90s and mostly interested in the 50s and 60s.

Not that most of the major studios seem to be willing to give us any content from that period except for Sony with The Bridge on the River Kwai but maybe at some point this year we will see the number of releases double to two ...

Indeed. It also has an uptick in detail and no revisionist grading or excessive grain reduction. I would hope that we will see more releases like this one in the future.

For people who are unsure in which way UHD releases differ from normal Blu-ray releases I suggest to have a look at caps-a-holic. It put me off a rather substantial number of UHD releases that changed the look and texture of a movie to a degree that is not consistent with respecting ists non-HDR origins. I happen to think that this is wrong way to go. It also shows that a studio like Sony has released some exceptionally well made examples of older catalog titles on UHD Blu-ray - if UHD is done like that count me in.

Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol (2011), Available 26 June, 2018.
Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation (2015), Available 26 June, 2018.

Notes:
- I'm aware that the first MI movie is already listed in this thread. But I wanted to keep the series together in the listing.
- Also aware of the pending theatrical release of a new MI series film, Mission: Impossible - Fallout (2018) coming to theaters in July 2018. However I do not have any confirmation of a 4K release as of yet.
- All 5 Movies will be available in a 5 Movie compendium. See RAH’s AFWA thread on the 4K release of the MI series.
