I have a Sony 27" wega, the overscan is about 5% according to DVE.

What is the recommended overscan for this type of set?
I dont like the 5% because some ticker info is cut off.
Is too low an overscan bad?

Thanks

Kyle,

You can most likely get a slightly lower overscan on that set, perhaps 3-4% if you adjust the geometry a little. If you go too far in you will start to see geometric distortions in the picture, or if no geometric distortions occur, you may not fill the entire screen on all channels.

Overscan is generally a good thing when viewing a significant amount of satellite/cable programming. If you didn't have any overscan your picture would not always fill the screen as stations do things slightly differently in this matter.

Regards,
