Oh joy - StudioCanal is releasing a brand new 4K UHD of this classic in January 2024, which means that we can finally throw away the hopeless, DNR'd-to-hell-and-back blu-ray from 2010. And the US hasn't even had more than a DVD release - which looks even worse than the blu-ray.

Now, this makes it extremely likely that the Criterion Collection will license the new master and release their own 4K UHD. They've done this with Breathless, Le Circle Rouge, The Virgin Suicides, Don't Look Now, Mulholland Drive, The Trial and The Others. Not that the Criterion LaserDisc or DVD of Peeping Tom really had any exceptional supplements - the commentary by Laura Mulvey was among the worst commentaries Criterion recorded. But an expected Criterion release will surely please collectors and US residents - Amazon shipping from the UK has now become prohibitively expensive.
