I have just had a look at this and it looks like the new
version.
This is the 4th version i have on Blu, sad aint it.

A Smilebox version in D-150 would be nice.

why would they make a smilebox version?
Dimension-150 was intended as a curved-screen presentation format, the 150 being the degrees of your field of vision intended to be enveloped.

Ok but HTWWW and Brother Grimm was filmd in a way that smile box would work. Essentially filmed so it would play on a curved screen. Smilebox simulates the curve. There is no curve to simulate with Patton.

There is the curved look that would have been produced by playback onto a curved screen.

I saw PATTON in both 'regular' 70mm and D-150. D-150 was most spectacular and as originally filmed would be tremendous in the Smilebox configuration.

Pictureville Cinema in Bradford use a original D-150 lens
when they show films shot in 65mm on the big curved
Cinerama screen.
This year we had The Sound of Music and Hello Dolly.

Thanks for that. You have to wonder just what Fox are playing at. I can only think it's a bit of infighting between Fox US & Fox Europe, maybe along the lines of - it's our budget that paid for the new transfer, so you can't have it, use the old one - so the customer (who in the end pay their wages) suffer. With the crazy stuff that's happening on the MOD program, it looks like Fox could do with a good management shake-up. I'll just pass, there are plenty of other movies for me to spend my money on.
