I went for the cheaper release as well. It is the German version (Weites Land)

I am getting a total cost of $22 shipped.

It's still in my cart. Just looking to make certain I selected the right one.

Perhaps the price just went up due to the fact there is only one copy left at the moment.

BTW, still haven't forgotten the first time I saw this film. It was with you and other HTF members
at (I believe) the Cinemadome in Los Angeles.

One of the best westerns I ever saw...though I haven't seen nearly as many as you.

It's only 7.97 euro if bought from Amazon Germany, & I find their delivery to be really fast. Their p&p is really cheap in Europe, I don't know how much it is to America.

I had used the original link I provided long ago to Amazon UK.

Did not read that Robert Crawford ordered from Amazon Germany.

That is what I just did and got it shipped for $14.30.

....and you should all thank me. Now a U.S. release will certainly be forthcoming.

Is this region locked or region free? Doesn't matter as I have a region-free player,
but just would like to know.

I bought me the French-BD, 'cause I read some notes on the german that it is not so good.
Something about the PQ, but I don't know for sure.

The french is quite good.

It is the German version (Weites Land)

"Weites Land" is the german title for THE BIG COUNTRY, this one here is called "Open Range - Weites Land".

The Swedish version is another option, i hear it's the same as the German release.

The so-called reviews on Amazon (on any subject) are often, how shall I put it, difficult to take seriously.
The users in forum are more often reliable.
At least this is my experience over the years.

It's Region B, but I'm glad that I have this disc especially at this price point. The gun shots on this BD, today were almost as impressive as that LA theater you first viewed this film.
