For this viewer, Far From Heaven is far from perfect.

I don’t think that it’s perfect either, nor do I think it far from flawed (or at least as much as you depict).

Thanks, Lew. Interesting. I promised Rich Malloy in another thread that I'd enter this one and we could all take it from there. I am amazed at the praise this film has earned, and I wanted so much to like it. But I will look at it again soon. (As I did with A.I.!)

Watching the film is a bit like visiting a museum exhibit on 50s suburban life -- except that the figures in this exhibit periodically reach across the dividers and insist that "attention must be paid".
