New Anamorphic Time Bandits DVD? (1 Viewer)

DVD Empire lists an Anchor Bay DVD of Time Bandits for release on May 6. The synopsis begins with "New Anamorphic Widescreen Transfer!"

I haven't heard of this release, and I don't see it listed anywhere else. Is this really coming?

There was a discussion over at the Regional DVD section on an Anchor Bay R2 (I think) anamorphic Time Bandit, probably a month or so ago. Have not heard anything with R1.

Wow...keep us informed. If a new 16x9 R1 disc is in the works...we'd all love to know about it!!!

The current dvd, on a revealing display...might as well be VHS on a 5" disc....

It CAN'T be R1, cause I just checked Anchor Bay's website and there is NOTHING about a new 16x9 release

The UK R2 Anchor Bay release of Time Bandits is anamorphic
so why not?
The Item Code: DV12340 seems to be a legit one for AB and
the UPC code: 013131234091 also seems to match an
entry at http://hometheaterinfo.com/archives.htm:

"2/19/03
...
Time Bandits (Movie-Only Edition), from Anchor Bay has been placed on the postponed list. The UPC for this release is 013131234091."
