maggie MMG/MG12 vs Ascend 170/340 for HT & 2 channel..any imput (1 Viewer)

I'm unsure which way to go in terms of which speakers to purchase (i just may end up buying a pair of the mmg and a pair of the ascend acoustics 170 and comparing them in different venues).

My room: 14 x 20
Equipment: sony 999es sacd player
SVS 20-39pc+ sub
...just sold my 2 channel rig and main speakers
and am looking at a mmultichannel amp to replace
it (and have enough muscle should i pursue the maggies
route), ie, Rotel RMB 1075.

Possible maggie route:
MMG at rear, MG12 front and matching CC3 center.

Possible Ascend acoustics route:
170s rear
340s front l/r and matching 340 center.

I watch alot of HT, but also watch/listen to alot
of DVD concerts (from Rush to Diana Krall) so musicality
and versatility are important to me.

Good question I wondered the same thing a few times and actually had been meaning to ask as I am considering trying the sub/satellite route and these both come highly rated...
