One of the most notable names among directors in the horror genre, Tobe Hooper made a name for himself with films like the gruesome yet notable The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974), Eaten Alive (1977), The Funhouse (1981), Lifeforce (1985) and even The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (1986); oh yeah, he also directed Poltergeist (1982), though an urban legend persists about who was really the director, but that’s another story. He also had some experience in television, but I’m Dangerous Tonight – based upon a Cornell Woolrich short story – represented his first horror film in the format. Originally broadcast on the USA Network and released on VHS by Universal, Kino has licensed the movie for its Blu-ray debut.
