Like I said a million freakin times before... The Capet
looks great in person and it matches the darker earth tone
of the walls and blinds.. If anything my couches are a lil
tacky (black) I think tan leather would look better

I think I am going to go with a Sebring Silver with Carbon
Baffles... My Ferrari idea would look great initially no
doubt! But I think they would become an eyesore after a
while being right in the living room all the time!

As for finishing one project first.. I hear ya! I have all
the pieces of the rack laying in the garage just collecting
dust.. I should finish the rack first and maybe I will....
But I have the freedom to work on anything in any order I
want!

I expect the finish will cost between $100 and $300 to do..
I have friends in the auto body field so I may get off easy
or may not

Your design is very interesting visually but I can not make
major changes to these LA's.. When you start changing the
speaker baffle then the crossover has to be re-designed and
that's not something I am up to the task of doing. The XO
is already designed and I am not changing the cabinet design
at all just putting them together

Ahhh just 4K worth of camera

I am going with a Sigma SD10 Digital SLR with the Sigma
SD Battery Grip, Sigma EX 24-70 Lens, Sigma EX 50mm Macro
Lens, Sigma EX 100-300 F4 Lens, Sigma EX 1.45x Teleconverter,
Sigma Super EF-500 SA-N Flash, Bogen Manfrotto 3228 Tripod,
Bogen Manfrotto 3030 Pan Head, Bogen Pro Monopod, NixVue
Digital Album Lite 20Gigabyte Portable Hard Drive, 2 Lexar
Professional 1 Gigabyte Compact Flash Cards with Write Acceleration,
Hardigg HPX Resin Hard Case (water tight to 300 foot below..)

Etc etc..

It all comes out to about $4300.00 but I am going to try
and beat the camera shop up and see if I can get into the
package for $3800 ish or so..



This is a picture of the SD9 but the SD10 is the same
body just some internal changes

I am moving up from an Olympus C750 (which I had and sold
before the commercials hit the airwaves LOL)..

I also have a Nikon N50 Film SLR that is currently in my
mothers possesion since I don't "do" film anymore.. Digital
is the only way for me and these Point And Shoots, while
very nice. They just do not offer me the flexibility I need.

I will get to work on the LA's as soon as I get them! I paid
John but I told him to take his time getting them packed and
ready to ship. It's the holidays and I would rather he spend
the time with family than packing my order. Besides I have
to order $200.00 worth of MDF Round Overs yet anyway

Hey what good is slaving your butt away at work if you can
not reap the benefits of the hard work, right?

Yeah I do have lots of hobbies and unfortunatly none of
them are affordable But I do what I can when I can
afford to do so. Honestly I have been slacking off on the
HT/2Channel stuff lately since I have gotten back into
Photography more. That coupled with the fact that I have
always been pleased with the way my system sounded and I
think I got to a point where I wasn't in a rush to upgrade.

I really wanted Line Arrays but beyond that I could have
spent the 4K I am buying the camera with on a high end CD
Transport/DAC or some more amps but to be honest I just
wasn't feeling the need to do so... I wanted the camera
more

Besides it will help me document the LA's

Brett, I totally get what you're saying.Its tough balancing funds between expensive hobbies, but sometimes you just get an itch you gotta scratch.

And hey, at least its safe to say that your LA project will be well documented. It gives you a chance to enjoy both hobbies at once!

Hi Owen,

I haven't yet received the parts from Stryke. I told John
to hold off till after the holidays were said and done so
he could spend the time with his family rather than packing
speakers and cutting MDF for me as it just isn't that
important around that time of the year. He has been super
busy lately but I think the drivers (less the tweeters
which are backordered) will ship this comming week.

Ah, I see the new toy is getting some good use. The outdoor detail shots look great. Also the background in that first shot (the Lambo on orange)looks really cool, what did you use for a background?

(by the way, did I see some surveying equipment in a corner back there or was that just the tripod for the camera?)

That was the tripod for the camera

I used yellow leather for the background of the lambo pic.

The detail the camera can capture is mind boggling and none
of what I have uploaded really shows that since I don't
have the time to upload 8Meg+ size images on a 56K
