If some water is good, then lots must be great!

As such, I plan to rebuild my home theater in a whale tank.

I moved my home theater to my bathroom so I can sit in the tub and watch DVD's. It took some work to secure my SVS to the side of the tub, but man does it work great! :D

On a serious note, from those frequency response charts, who would want one of these things? There's not a chance in hell of you getting accurate flat response across the frequency range even if you EQ'd the hell out of it, and zero chance of correctly reproducing the intended sound mix in your room. Given the greatly reduced output at 20Hz, it isn't even useful for a LFE only subwoofer. Sure, it'll pound the hell out of you from 40-80Hz... but in comparison to a subwoofer that can give flat response from 16Hz-120Hz at theater reference levels, who cares?

No offense meant by that, John. If you're happy with it, then that's great. But for most people here, these subwoofers would be counter to the whole concept of calibrating your home theater to reproduce the intended sound mix.

The QS8's are wonderful they are perfect for my side surrounds not sure how they would be as rear channels but I am sure they will be great. Axioms are great speakers expecially if you like it loud with no distortion. I usually average from 106-114 dbs when I listen to music and movies.

Thanks John. My "rears" are actually on the side walls 20" behind my listening sofa, so they are really side speakers.
Yamaha ( I have a DSP-A1) doesn't adhere to any of the THX rear/side placement recommendations, and since even when I upgrade to 6.1/7.1 I can't place any more speakers in that part of the room, I guess the high enveloping sound of the QS8 that I've read about will probably fill the bill!

Thanks!

Sundays are good for me too. Anytime after 3pm, I usually don't get home from church until then. Just give me a call whenever you want to come over. God bless you

Did anything ever happen with this? Sorry to revive a 20 yr old thread, but I picked up a load of these subs for the price of driving to get them. The lot included four of the dual 10" cabinets, and one of the dual 15". The drivers are missing from three of the smaller ones, but they are present in one of the 10's and the 15's. I already have a large dual 18" sub I use for my HT, but I thought these would be fun to mess around with. The water bladders are in tact in all of them and I can hear the water sloshing around when I move em. The big dual 15" model is what peaked my interest, the cabinet is made of 1" white birch and maple plywood. It measures 24"x24"x49" and weighs 465lbs with two 15 gallon water bladders and the woofers. Even the 10" model weighs 170lbs made with 3/4" plywood.

Pics show the larger 15" model. I removed the subs because when I first tested the coils, they tested open. I removed them and found out they were dual voicecoil subs, but were only wired to 1 voicecoil and the other terminals were on the back where I didnt see them. The other side tested good so I put it all back together to test. The 10" model uses single voicecoil woofers, those test good.

I am going to play with them a bit and see how they do. The cabinets are really well made. I will report back
