I want to thank Josh, who mentioned in another thread, that IN THE HEART OF THE SEA 3D is on sale for $20 this week.

The widget below may not reflect that discount, but click on it.

The story is rather typical of cheesy 50s scifi, but the 3D is excellent, with many pop outs (asteroid at the start) and a telescope which seems to hit you in the head.
When I was a middle school teacher in the '80s, and 3D was dead, I used to rent the movie for a special day and have the whole school watch it. We always took a picture of the entire student body with cardboard glasses on.

Whoops! I was writing about It Came From Outerspace of course.

I'm glad you did, great story about showing it to your students. We were limited to VHS at my school but I loved whenever they'd show a movie.

Thought I'd just put this on some radar screens. As most you know, The Huntsman: Winter's War did not get a 3-D Blu-ray release States side. However, it can easily be ordered from amazon.uk or amazon.de (where it sells as The Huntsman & the Ice Queen). The price in Germany just dropped from €27 to €22 ($25 USD) where it is region free and includes an English DTS:X track. It remains £31.3 in the UK or roughly $41 USD. Personally, I'm continuing to wait and believe the price will continue to drop in Germany down to about €19 and probably by October or so.

Regarding: In The Heart Of The Sea 3D
Anyone seen it? How's the movie? How's the 3D? Would be a blind buy for me.
Found the movie to hold my interest. Felt sincerity of purpose.
3D conversion is an above average experience as impression evokes a sense of "being there".
Contrast and color palette compliments spacial substance that becomes well defined.

Here's one to watch out for on BD 3-D. According to Stereoscopy News:

KUBO AND THE TWO STRINGS left most critics speechless at the press screening in Las Vegas. The stereoscopic frame-by-frame stop motion animation movie is truly magical: Beautiful story, lovely characters, out-of-this-world animation and George Harrisson,'s "While my Guitar Gently Weeps"... Watch the trailer here under and don't miss it in theaters from August 19, 2016.
