Well I was able to go see it in the theater, and like it very much. So I'm going to get this bad boy as soon it comes out on DVD and thanks to this review, I'm can't wait either(Brazil will keep me company until then).

Great review Ron! I am looking forward to adding this disc to my collection. :)Ron, do you think the DTS track is as good as the one(corrected version)on the first movie?

I enjoyed the movie in the theater and can't wait for it on DVD. My only hope is that Universal releases the 4-pack in DTS. I want the bonus disc and DTS. I already own the Deluxe Edition of the two films, but not in DTS.
Also, was Robert Bakker mentioned anywhere? When I met him, he really didn't mention JP3, but it's always nice to see him discussing dinosaurs.

Glad to hear its a great disc! Ron can you shed some light as to wether this disc is in fact an DD EX and or DTS ES encoded mix?
I can hardly wait to get this in my player!

I saw the movie in theaters, loved it (I thought it was much better than the second film but still not quite as good as the original). I've been waiting for the DVD for a long time, it sounds really good! I'll be getting the Boxed Set this Christmas with all three Jurassic Park films plus the additional bonus disc.

I saw this in theaters in DTS and was really impressed by the film... I thought it was much better than JPII in respects that they could wander from the beaten path and not corrupt source material (there was no JPIII book... and if you read the Lost World, you understand that NOTHING is the same from the book... it is totally different :) )

Ron,
My question is the same as Dalton: just how does this disc compare to the repressed DTS JP?

Guys,
It took forever for Universal to get me my
replacement disc. I have not even had the
opportunity to sit down and listen to the
"R2D2" version of Jurassic Park.
I can tell you that my table shook from my
SV SUB cranking out the low frequency bass.
It has an incredibly active low frequency channel.
To answer the audio question, there are
only three 5.1 selections (DD, DTS, DD French).

I will be buying even though I consider this the weakest in the series. I have a question though. I had heard some time ago that you could mail something in and get a 4th bonus disk and a case that could hold the trilogy and bonus disk. Is this true?

Boy, I was dying for a review and now I'll be clawing the wall waiting for this baby. Already got the day planned: the wife will keep my son, some Vienna Fingers, some fruit punch and a triple play of JP. I better make sure everything is secured. Too bad I wont have the new cabinet for the 15 inch sub done. Maybe I'll try.

I was really excited about this disc but just due to the fact that there are SO MANY special features and 3 digital
soundtracks, I really can't see how the picture would be
that great. I think DVDangle gave it poor remarks for the
video. Somewhere between 4 4.5 mbit is all you will get with
all that stuff crammed on it. I wish they would have released it on two discs

I guess I will search for the
region two disc without all the extras. After all how many
times are you going to watch a documentary?

To me, it's much better than JPII & almost as good as JPI. I thought JPII was a disappointment.
JPIII is lean & fast, a perfect summer thrill ride.

I'm picking this up, sight unseen. Mainly though due to the fact that the Blockbuster by me will only rent the P&S version, so I'll just by the widescreen version at Best Buy.

JP3 is a fun popcorn movie - no more, no less. And it really scored points with me for not overstaying its welcome by leadin g up to some 'ultimate confrontation' climax that is so typical in the genre these days.
This disc becomes even more appealing with the free DVD offer from Universal.
