Hey Rain, looks like it's the battle of conflicting vets :)

My best friend and closest confidant is my more-precious-than-can-be-described colorpoint shorthair, Attila the Cat. He is a complete tomcat, too. Attila will be nine years old this April.
He is a philosopher and a leader, by the way. Attila founded an activist organization a few years ago, called Feline Awareness Now Group (FANG). His goal, to quote him, is to "restore catkind to the glory that was ours in Egypt." Shortly thereafter, as more and more cats joined FANG, Attila founded a more militant spinoff group called Cat Liberation Army Worldwide (CLAW), the idea being that action is called for in a day of mediocrity and feline domesticity. "Life is but a ball of twine to most of my people," Attila has often said.
Attila inspires other cats wherever he goes. Just the other day, I overheard a couple of neighbor cats talking about Attila, as they watched him dozing on my living room window sill. "You know something?" said a marmalade cat to his companion and pointing at the sleeping Attila. "He's the reason I'm proud to be cat!" The other cat's face glistened as he watched Attila.
He's that kind of cat, I tell you.

I thought that there was this whole Animal/Human thing that couldn't cross over. Like they couldn't catch what we have and we can't catch what they have.
As far as viruses go, they have different receptors and that is the reason why viruses can't cross over. Bacteria are of course totally different and can manifest in the same manner in humans and animals.
Since we are on the subject of afflicted cats, my Callie is an indoor/outdoor cat and it looks like she got into a fight with another animal. There are two cuts on her little head and although I keep cleaning them with hydrogen peroxide, she keeps scratching them and as a result, they won't heal properly. She has all of her shots, so that isn't a concern, but I'm trying to figure out a way to stop her from opening up the wounds. Should I take her to the vet?

Jack, does Attila tell you to do things? Do you hear the voice of your kitty? :)
oops. It looks like I'll be taking Kitty in. He just coughed several times in a row.

Tom,
I used to have a Siamese cat named Buttercap. Man, what a terrible name! I should have named her Spitfire or Dragonfire or the like, not some cute little flower (hey, she was a real teeny tiny delicate looking kitten...) After she was spayed, she simply would not leave the stitches alone. She plucked at them until the vet put an ace bandage around her middle. That stopped her for a while. Then she got the bandage off and, seeing fast running humans, promptly swallowed it whole. Vet had never seen anything like this and didn't know what to do. Then she ripped the stitches completely out. Vet again scratched his head but in the end my dainty little flower was healed enough that she was fine.
But hey, maybe your vet will have a better solution

Tom, Brad: Both of you, now--take those felines to see a doc. I once lived with a Turkish Angora female, who apparently had been pierced by another cat's claw. She developed a terrible absess, and required medical treatment.
Attila's FANG organization has a monitoring department devoted to tracking down humans who don't take their cats in for treatment when they need it. Believe me, guys, you don't want one of the operators at FANG calling you. Remember, Attila inspires "his people" to action.

Jack, does Attila tell you to do things?
Velcro and Eddie tell me to do things all the time.
Fortunately, the instruction is mostly confined to:
"Feed me." (Velcro)
"Feed me now, asshole!" (Eddie)
"Rub my head." (Eddie)
"Rub my tummy." (Velcro)
"Don't go to work, dammit." (Velcro)
"I'm glad you're home from work...feed me." (Velcro)
"Oh, did you just get here?...didn't notice." (Eddie)
"Excuse me, but you don't actually expect me to use that box before you clean it out, do you?" (Velcro)
"It's time for bed." (Velcro)

Boy Jack Briggs can't be a real kitty person. There's nothing about cats in his signature!

Well I am back. The good news is: Lil Kitty has a "cough" and there is no sign of infection or virus (I even had to pay an extra $90 for a chest X-Ray) and is being treated with Prednisolone.
The bad news is: Lil Kitty has to be force fed his "medicine" and after taking all his pills, if he continues to cough, he may have... KITTY ASTHEMA!! This means that Janna and I will have to quit smoking with NO excuses!!
The Vet even offered that I quit smoke or give up Lil Kitty if he has the "Kitty Asthema."
okay.

Julie & Jack, I was trying to think of a good way to stop kitty from opening her wound and the only thing I could think of is the thing that looks like a funnel that gets placed over and around the head. Do you think that will work? I am going to take her to the vet, though.
Rain, my favorite talking cat (sort of) was in Go. "You are going to die."

Yep, Lil Kitty likes to gnaw on Big Kitty more as a chew toy than a snack.
Rain, good god your kitties own you! :)
I enjoyed the cat versus girl fight in Scream 2 (I think it was one of the few things I liked about that movie.

Did that include a CAT scan?

You don't even want to know what I've spent on medical treatment for my little Jack Russell Terrier...

I'm glad to hear little Kitty is not seriously ill. :)
As for the quitting smoking thing...I didn't do very well at that with the thread I started, but if it comes to you having to quit, maybe we should resurrect the thread.
