I'm building a home and want to get a sound system that will allow the following:
Play FLAC files
Play internet radio (not necessarily paid stuff, but CBC Radio 3, etc.)
Be able to drive wireless speakers (Polk, Denon or Sonos)
I have a wireless subwoofer (Kilpsch) from a previous house build.
I do not have cable or satellite, but do have high speed internet. I will occasionally use the system for audio with a TV to watch Netflix or a DVD, but am not really wanting full home theater setup...primarily radio and audio listening.
I've seen a dozen receivers, but am sufficiently out of step and overwhelmed by the various audio enhancements that promise better sound from CDs and MP3. (I am NOT a fan of MP3, but do listen to music videos on YouTube occasionally. I do purchase and download hi res audio; don't know as this media requires "enhancing".
I am on a budget, so cant spend 3K on a system, but know that decent sound and capacity aren't cheap. I don't want to install wall/ceiling speakers here, as I may well upgrade the system in the future.
I'd appreciate any advice!
