Firefox address bar stopped going right to the website (1 Viewer)

So i guess there was a firefox update recently and now i cant get the
direct to a website deal working anymore.

if i type facebook it searches for facebook and shows results.
previously it would go right to facebook.
additionally there is a HTF logo in the top left side of the page
after typing something in the address bar along with the search results.

what happened?

I also could type in a title of a mvie and go directly to the imdb page of the movie.
how did i lose this function?

Install the add-on called "oldbar":

It makes the address bar behave the way it did on older versions of Firefox.


Edit: Actually, that might not be the problem. I just typed "The Godfather" into my Firefox and it took me to the imdb page for The Godfather -- and I do not have the oldbar add-on running. Single word films like "Stardust" results in a google result page. Multi word titles of films that have current websites, such as "Rise of the Lycans" resulted in Sony's promo website for Underworld: Rise of the Lycans. There's clearly some intelligence at work, but I don't know the parameters. "Facebook" resulted in facebook.com.

wish i could figure this out.
I tried over at mozilla but couldn't find anything.

really strange that i see a HTF logo on search pages.
I even disabled the htf toolbar.

Are you typing in the search bar within Firefox? You shouldn't see our logo unless you are using the search function for Google within the forum.

using the address bar,
were i would normally type
http://www.imdb. com

i could previously type imdb or the name of the movie.
or "netflix" etc.

doesn't work, just get a results page with that htf logo at the top left.

Even tried removing the htf tool bar.

I figured it out.
it is a component on the htf toolbar.

there is a email notifier drop down.
in the toolbar setting is a check box for
"enable search from address bar"

this must have become checked during an update.

it is now unchecked.

I'm just thrilled i fifgured it out.
I really like being able to type an address without using the entire address
and movie titles going right to imdb.
