A few things I wish to mention here....
First, this was not meant as intended slam
to DVDFILE. We love those guys there,
and they run one of the best DVD news sites
on the web.
Realize, sometimes information just gets
misquoted or otherwise.
Now, let me talk about MGM....
That studio monitors this forum daily.
They are very concerned about making certain
that any information regarded their releases
that is posted to this forum is accurate. They
will continue to do so.
The studio is continuing to read your feedback
in hopes of improving their DVD releases which
have already improved in many cases.

Absolutely, but this was ridiculously easy to debunk, and contacting any source -- be it MGM, Carpenter's office, or Fangoria -- would've been enough to show that this tidbit of news has no basis in reality. Not verifying news that volatile is sloppy and unfair to everyone, from MGM to DVD File's readers. Heck, 15 seconds at Fangoria's site would've been enough to show that issue 207 is the current issue on the stands, and a search to show that issue 155 was released over five years ago wouldn't have taken much longer.

I am also relieved that this rumor was not true. Altering a movie like this is like altering history. The WTC was a part of our landscape at the time the movie was made and should be in there. Thanks MGM and Ron for clarifying this.

on the web.[/quote] I don't think anyone took it as a slam, Ron, either by you or by HTF. But a series of postings by DVDFile, of which this is only the most recent, has prompted some of us to read it somewhat more skeptically than in the past.
